Ray Lewis beat out all the odds to become one of the greatest players to play the game. With his power, strength and unwillingness to give up and only do better, brought him to the pinnacle of the game. I spoke with Ray Lewis during the IPCPR to find out why he started smoking cigars. His answer was genuine, honest, and reviling for the man he is. He told me as a kid his grandfather always smoked cigars and he asked him one day why. Papa told him “The day you figure out why I keep a cigar in my mouth is the day you figure out manhood”. His grandfather died before he found out the answer, and one day while visiting a friend’s house, he offered Ray a cigar and after refusing a number of times, he took it and lit the cigar, after a few puffs it hit him. Tears running down his face and found himself reflecting on everything he did for his grandfather and said to himself “I now know what manhood is”. I learned that day that not only was he passionate about the game, he is passionate about family, life and cigars. Which is why Ray Lewis and Rocky Patel teamed up to passionately create this medium bodied, smooth and complex cigar just the way Ray likes it. I am also sure there is no coincidence that his jersey number and cigar ring size are the same “52” or that the cigar is 6 ½ and Ray is 6’ 1’ and 250 LBS.SOC
